The PEGASUS and AEROFOG teams had the pleasure to welcome Madame Cécile Vigneau, Ambassador of France in Namibia, at the Gobabeb Namib Research Center. Madame the Ambassador was introduced to the scientific objectives of the AEROFOG projetc and the technical challenges of measuring aerosol particles and reactive gases in such a remote environment.
As part of the Grade 7 field trip, students from the Windhoek International School visited the AEROFOG teams, PEGASUS and its instrumentation. PEGASUS et ses personnels se préparent à participer à la campagne d’observation du projet TONGA. Il s’agit d’une croisière de 37-jour dans le Pacifique sud-ouest tropical qui aura lieu à bord du R/V L’Atalante en décembre 2019. Le projet TONGA étudie le rôle des micronutriments d’origine hydrothermale sur la productivité océanique et l’export de carbone.
